About Evolution Cutlery

My name is Dan Tompkins, the proud owner and artisan behind Evolution Cutlery. With a passion for crafting exceptional knives, I embarked on this journey in 2016, and in 2019, I established Evolution Cutlery to share my creations with fellow enthusiasts like you.

As an ABS Apprentice bladesmith, I continuously strive for excellence in every aspect of my craft. My dedication to the art of knife making has led me to acquire a diverse skill set, enabling me to create high-quality blades that meet the highest standards.

One of the defining characteristics of my work is using the finest materials available, whether its using my house made damascus, stainless Damasteel or copper infused steel from Baker Forge.  Each piece is meticulously crafted, combining traditional techniques with my own artistic touch. The result is a blade that not only showcases the beauty of the Damascus pattern but also delivers exceptional performance and durability, functional art.

Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of learning from some of the most respected bladesmiths in the industry. One of my most influential experiences was apprenticing under ABS Journeyman Smith Greg Cimms. Working alongside such a seasoned professional allowed me to refine my skills and expand my knowledge, shaping me into the craftsman I am today.
